Built for freeriders who love playful, deep-snow performance yet demand control when launching down steep, aggressive lines, the Impulse 112’s by BLACK DIAMOND are the big guns you want on a storm day.
Wide-waisted at 112-mm, these skis are floaty for deep conditions, while the playful turning radius keeps them nimble for lines that require confidence and accuracy. Their flat, solid-core construction adds torsional stiffness and provides premium power transmission, dampness and stability to hold fast while charging on harder snow.
Austrian-made with pre-preg fiberglass and an engineered poplar core, the Impulse 112 by BLACK DIAMOND is built for the progressive freerider looking to get after it.
- High Performance Prepreg Fiberglass (BPRO):
High-strength E-Glass fiber is oriented along multiple axes and optimized to provide a smooth and consistent flex profile, longitudinal strength, and torsional stiffness. Toughened epoxy resin is added in precise quantities prior to ski manufacturing to ensure precise weight and consistent quality. This layup is engineered with additional 45-deg layers to prioritize torsional stiffness for maximum downhill performance and strikes a balance between toughness, durability, damping, and weight.
- Titanal Mounting Plate:
A high-strength metal plate is embedded underneath the composite layer to ensure that binding screw retention is never a concern. This plate also serves to increase torsional stiffness and provides a solid foundation underfoot.
- Internal Core Dampening:
Elastomeric materials are strategically located within the ski to improve damping and edge control. These layers serve both to absorb high-frequency vibration and also to allow some shear between internal layers, improving both performance and durability.
- Engineered Poplar Wood Core:
Poplar wood is the material of choice for skis where downhill performance, toughness, and torsional stiffness is a priority. Its longitudinal stiffness offers a consistent contribution to the flex profile, while its shear and compressive strength allow the composite layers to properly carry the dynamic loads when the ski bends, and its natural damping properties smooth out the chatter. Poplar is nearly ideal as a ski core material when downhill performance is the top priority.
- Full-Perimeter ABS Sidewalls:
ABS sidewalls wrap the entire perimeter of the ski, offering optimal durability and damping. Used on skis designed for maximum downhill performance and durability, but optimized for minimal weight.
- Ptex 4500 Base:
Industry-accepted as the premium base material, this sintered UHMW-PE base provides very high density for excellent durability and wax retention, combined with high carbon content for superior glide.
- Floaty 112-mm waist is ideal for deep snow
- Rockered tip and tail and traditional camber underfoot
- Made in Austria with a pre-preg fiberglass layup and poplar core
- Flat-top construction and full ABS sidewalls for increased power and torsional stiffness
- Optimal Use: 70% soft snow, 30% hard snow

Because of the relatively small factory inventories at outdoor clothing collections, we can not guarantee for constant availability of all parts of our online collection. You can contact us via email or phone before your order to ask us about the current availability. In case of delivery delays we will inform you via e-mail, fax or telephone. Shipments to mailboxes are not possible.

For bulky goods we calculate the actual costs as surcharge fee for each product. Bulky goods can be recognized by an additional labeling in the product selection, indicating a shipping rate in the prefix, which will be added as an additional charge for the product in the cart. You never pay more than indicated in your shopping cart. Partial delivery causes no additional costs within EU countries and Switzerland; please enter a phone number where you are reachable during the day.
Orders are shipped only when all previous deliveries already have been paid.
