The secret of success lies in rope manufacturing
The success story of the German outdoor and mountaineering equipment manufacturer Edelrid began in 1863. The trained merchant and passionate alpinist Julius EDELmann and the technician Carl RIDer started the company as a strand and cord factory. With their developed rope constructions they soon achieved great success and so the first nylon ropes quickly followed. With the development of the first Edelrid kernmantel rope in 1953, the German rope manufacturer then achieved a breakthrough in the climbing and mountaineering industry. The core sheath rope was also Edelrid's first dynamic mountain rope and a milestone in alpine climbing ropes. Edelrid continued its success in the mountain sports sector with the first harnesses, climbing harnesses and other climbing hardware.

All Edelrid climbing ropes and rope lanyards are bluesign® certified. The protected bluesign® designation stands for maximum protection of the environment and its resources.
