The Grand Prix 5000S TR by CONTINENTAL is the new standard for road bike tubeless ready technology. Ride faster, more comfortable and even more puncture resistant with this handmade tire.
- Black Chili Compound: The running properties of a tire's rubber compound are largely determined by three interacting factors - static friction (grip), rolling resistance and mileage. The dilemma: If one of these factors is improved, at least one of the others deteriorates in return. A tire with maximum grip wears more quickly and rolls more slowly. If the tire is made faster or more durable, its grip is reduced. With the Black Chili Compound, a tread compound that is always based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, a lasting answer has been provided to the cycling scene. Depending on the area of use of a tire, the compound formulation is specifically adjusted - whether for the road bike or mountain bike, for time trial or downhill. For Black Chili, special synthetic rubbers, are refined with proven natural rubber to particularly high-performance tread compounds. These mixtures are then added carbon black particles, which in turn are optimized in shape and surface properties.
- Active Comfort Technology: The revolutionary approach in road cycling. Integrated into the tire construction, Active Comfort Technology absorbs shocks and provides a superior riding experience.
- Lazer Grip: Lazer Grip was used for the first time in a CONTINENTAL bicycle tire. The Technolgie sets on the subject of grip yet another and equips your tire with a specially lazerten shoulder area. In addition, the dark sections look particularly noble due to their velvety surface.
- Tubeless Ready: The carcass construction is robust and impervious against damage and penetration from foreign objects. The result: versatile, low weight and an attractive design. In addition, tires made using this technology can also be used as Tubeless or with an inner tube. CONTINENTAL recommends the usage of the CONTINENTAL Revo-Sealant.
- For initial assembly, it is recommended to use at least 30 ml of CONTINENTAL RevoSealant per tire. Then rotate the tire or wheel to distribute the RevoSealant and inflate to maximum pressure. Before the first ride, check the pressure again and top up if necessary.
