ORTOVOX has discovered classic milled wool for the first time in 1988 and have stuck with it ever since. Their gloves are worn on both small and large mountains, when ski touring and freeriding in winter and on alpine tours in summer. Why? Because wool can provide warmth even when wet and therefore offers extra safety against the cold.
In winter and summer alike: the Swisswool Classic Glove by ORTOVOX in 100% virgin wool offers basic protection for your hands on hills and high mountains. The positive features of wool really come into their own in gloves, as wool warms even when it gets wet. Virgin wool is also known for its excellent thermal properties and optimum climate control. The Swisswool Classic Mitten by ORTOVOX is also made from fair-trade wool from Switzerland, which makes it particularly sustainable.
The virgin wool ORTOVOX uses is produced locally in Switzerland. Swisswool has set up collection stations specifically for this purpose in many Swiss Alpine valleys, some of which are very remote, guaranteeing a fair price for raw wool. This has led to a revival in sheep farming and wool production, which are often quite unprofitable. After the raw wool has been weighed, it is washed and then processed. ORTOVOX then provides the unique design and functionality during the manufacture of the end product.

Because of the relatively small factory inventories at outdoor clothing collections, we can not guarantee for constant availability of all parts of our online collection. For bulky goods we calculate the actual costs as surcharge fee for each product. As an example bulky goods are: Ski (with a length of more than 160 cm), bicycles, mountain bikes, and volume elements for climbing walls. Bulky goods can be recognized by an additional labeling in the product selection, indicating a shipping rate in the prefix, which will be added as an additional charge for the product in the cart. You never pay more than indicated in your shopping cart. Partial delivery causes no additional costs within EU countries and Switzerland; please enter a phone number where you are reachable during the day.
Orders are shipped only when all previous deliveries already have been paid.
