This weather-resistant little wonder has been on the PATAGONIA “list of essentials” for nearly a decade. Perfectly minimal, the Houdini Jacket by PATAGONIA can be stuffed and put into a running short pocket, clipped to a harness, or become a permanent fixture in a pack or carry-on.
100% nylon ripstop fabric blocks wind and a DWR (durable water repellent) coating protects against light precipitation. The lim fit of the Houdini Jacket by PATAGONIA for women accommodates baselayers and light midlayers. It’s the emergency layer you don’t know is there, until it’s not.

Recycled Nylon
Although PATAGONIA has been using recycled polyester in the garments for 20 years, for some reason locked deep in polymer chemistry, nylon is more difficult to recycle than polyester. After years of research, development, and #C02ing, PATAGONIA is finally finding some recycled nylon fibers that are suitable for apparel.
Some of the recycled nylon PATAGONIA use comes from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn collected from a spinning factory, and waste from the weaving mills that can be processed into reusable nylon fiber.
PATAGONIA is diligently searching for a success story with recycled nylon. The challenge lies ahead of us, and PATAGONIA committed to discovering the best methods to recycle nylon fiber, but it appears this evolution will take many years.
Water Resistant
DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

PATAGONIA pays a premium for every PATAGONIA product that is marked with a #K03️ label. This money goes directly to the workers who freely decide how it is used. In this program, there is no top-down determination. In every factory there is a democratically elected #K01 workers' committee that decides how the money is used.
The premiums were used to finance community projects, such as health care and a day care center for children. Products were purchased that the workers could not otherwise have afforded, such as laptops or stoves; or cash payments were made directly to the workers. But that is not all. The program also promotes workers' health and safety, social and environmental measures, and dialogue between workers and management.

Because of the relatively small factory inventories at outdoor clothing collections, we can not guarantee for constant availability of all parts of our online collection.
