Haglöfs - from a Swedish log cabin to a global player in the outdoor business

When Victor Haglöf manufactured the first backpack in a log cabin on his parents' farm in Sweden in 1914 his intention was not to explore the surrounding area of his native village Torsång. He wanted the exact opposite: Through making it as an entrepreneur he would be able to avoid having to work outside on the field and in the woods as his ancestors had to - at that time a hard and strenuous work. He chose to manufacture backpacks because they were missing in daily farm work at that time.Haglöfs backpacks soon became well-known and popular all over Sweden. In the 1940s Haglöfs added lightweight tents and camping accessories to his product range. The tents as well as the camping equipment were ideally suited for Scouts and marked the beginning of a close tie between Haglöfs and the Swedish Scouts. Until the 1980s Haglöfs sold its products almost exclusively to the Swedish market but since then the company has expanded rapidly and now has subsidiaries in Finland, Norway, Denmark, Great Britain and Germany.

The backpack range of Haglöfs is just as extensive as its possible application areas: Haglöfs offers hiking backpacks, alpine backpacks, climbing backpacks as well as travel bags and backpacks for everyday. The Haglöfs backpacks are all characterised by an innovative carrying system. The Instant carrying system from Haglöfs for example enables individual adjustment of back length. For all of its backpacks Haglöfs uses sturdy materials that are made for rough usage. Finally the Haglöfs-typical no-frills, clean design reduces the backpack to its essentials.

Another field of expertise of Haglöfs is outdoor clothing. The company only uses functional and high-quality materials such as GORE-TEX and puts emphasis on the durability of its garments. The hard shell and soft shell clothing from Haglöfs is always exactly tailored to the needs of the application area and available in modern colourful designs. Haglöfs trekking trousers are characterised by their robustness and durability. Moreover, Haglöfs also offers a wide range of functional underwear, sweaters, shirts and t-shirts.

Sustainability has always been an important aspect of Haglöfs. The company is a member of bluesign and the Fair Wear Foundation. Haglöfs is committed to reduce environmental pollution in the manufacturing process and to ensure fair production conditions. Delivery time:

We deliver by DHL within 2-3 business days to your home address in Germany and within 5-7 business days to addresses in the European countries. Shipping insurance is always included. Shipping overseas takes around 3-4 weeks with standard service. The delivery times in other countries will be indicated individually.

Because of the relatively small factory inventories at outdoor clothing collections, we can not guarantee for the constant availability of all parts of our online collection. You can contact us via email or phone before your order to ask us about the current availability. In case of delivery delays we will inform you via e-mail, fax or telephone. Shipments to mailboxes are not possible.

Shipping costs:

  • Germany (DE), Austria (AT): Free shipping delivery. The minimum order is EUR 20.00. Returns from Austria have to be paid by the customer.
  • EU countries: Please refer to table published in our shipping policy. For EU countries the minimum order is EUR 20.00. Returns from Finland are free of charge. Returns from other EU countries have to be paid by the customer.
  • Non-EU countries and Switzerland: Please refer to table published in our shipping policy. There is a minimum order of EUR 20.00. For shipments overseas an additional delivery is not possible. Returns have to be paid by the customer.

For bulky goods we calculate the actual costs as surcharge fee for each product. As an example bulky goods are: Ski (with a length of more than 160 cm), bicycles, mountain bikes, and volume elements for climbing walls. Bulky goods can be recognized by an additional labeling in the product selection, indicating a shipping rate in the prefix, which will be added as an additional charge for the product in the cart. You never pay more than indicated in your shopping cart. Partial delivery causes no additional costs within EU countries and Switzerland; please enter a phone number where you are reachable during the day.

Orders are shipped only when all previous deliveries already have been paid.
